San Miniato is located between Pisa and Florence, on the Via Francigena, and is, among other things, a place of excellence for white truffles. The original nucleus of San Miniato dates back to the 8th century, when a group of Lombards built a church dedicated to the martyr Miniato in the village of San Genesio.
