The St. Anna chapel, built in 1458, was originally located on the corner of Hauptstraße / Alter Stadtweg in Stockstadt am Main. Its demolition took place in January 1925 on municipal council decision. In 2007, the chapel was rebuilt according to historical model elsewhere, west beyond the B469 towards Auhof, and consecrated on April 6, 2008.

The original chapel has seen moving times, the Peasants 'War, the Thirty Years' War and the invasion of Napoleon's troops.
Until 1810 it remained the only building outside the town walls.
Over time, however, the chapel became dilapidated and so the Stockstadt municipal council decided in 1928 to demolish it and rebuild it elsewhere. However, the promised rebuilding was forgotten.

In 2007, Mayor Lothar Schaffrath found sponsors to build a small new chapel on the Oberwiese with their own construction team. The entire interior of the old chapel has disappeared, except for a small wooden figure depicting St. Anne.
On April 6, 2008, Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Bauer, assisted by Pastor Werner Schwarzkopf, blessed the new field chapel, including Anna statue and bell.
It is the 73rd chapel in the Aschaffenburg district.
