The famous and large ski and tourist center Pec pod Snezkou is 769 m above sea level. and is located in the Eastern Giant Mountains, in the deep valley of the Upa river below the highest Czech mountain - Snezka (1602 m above sea level). The town of Pec pod Snezkou consists of two historical parts - Velka Upa with the original mountain architecture buildings on the mountain slopes and the actual Pec with the center at the confluence of the Upa and Zeleny potok.
