Tips

  • Turnsackerl 🇦🇹

The Springlessteig is a very beautiful and easy via ferrata (difficulty level A) on the Hohe Wand, which, thanks to good insurance, can also be walked on when there is snow - it would only be advisable to avoid it when it is icy. Between the exit at the Hubertushaus and the descent via the easy Grafenbergweg there is a short plateau hike with the most beautiful vantage points of the Hohe Wand.

  • Very easy via ferrata to the Hubertushaus - basically a hiking trail with passages secured by ropes. After turning off the Turm- and Wildenauersteig first insurances. At the foot of the wall there is a short access ladder, followed by rock steps secured with a wire rope and a wide band. The exit is at the meadow below the Hubertushaus.
    Exact route description:
First you hike on a marked path in the direction of the Hubertushaus. The via ferrata begins on the last 100 m.
    Child friendly:
    Yes
    Gear:
Basic via ferrata equipment for beginners and helmet. As a rule, no equipment is required for experienced hikers, but a helmet cannot do any harm because of the usually quite large crowds (rockfalls from other mountaineers).

  • The Springlessteig is known via ferrata (Schwygrigkeit A) on the Hohe Wand. It starts above Oberhöflein and runs first in the forest, later in the rock directly to the Hubertushaus.

  • A simple, insured path that ends just below the Hubertushaus. Promising, stimulating and above all the best access to the much more difficult extended Steirer track.
