Historic Center of Sterzing / Vipiteno

Vipiteno is always worth a visit. Especially when September is dumpling festival, where there are 70 different types of dumplings on a 300-meter row of tables in the streets.

If you are traveling from or to the south and stop in Sterzing, then the "Black Eagle" is recommended, in which we have eaten several times really well.

On the town square, it is worth taking a look at the Holy Ghost Hospital Church (next to the tourist information), which is inconspicuous from the outside: late Gothic frescoes depicting the life of Jesus.

The centuries-old small town structure, dominated by trade and commerce, is undergoing radical changes: in addition to trade and administration, health care, sport and tourism have become increasingly important today.
