For dog owners, the northern section around the lake is also recommended. Here four-legged friends at many different small bays have a nice access to the water.

Beautiful natural lake with beach. In the connected beach clubhouse with restaurant and cocktail bar you can let it look good with a view of the lake.

For me as a dog owner especially the section in the north with various beautiful bays and a small sandy beach is exciting. In the southern part of the lake, the campsite and Club Amici are fenced areas that block access to the lake.

    Effelder forest lake
For fishermen, water sports enthusiasts and bathing friends, the Effelder Waldsee, which originated from a former gravel and sand pit, is a popular attraction on the edge of the Schwalm-Nette nature park. Especially for families with children, the lake is a popular destination due to its non-swimmer pool, the wide range of water sports, numerous hiking and biking trails and the adjacent campsite.

You can see that gravel mining can leave a landscape more beautiful than it was before.
