The Maare-Mosel Cycle Route is peppered with wonderful highlights. The best way to get there is to hop on the bike bus in Bernkastel-Kues and take it up to Daun early in the morning. Then you can enjoy the descent along the old railway line. Detours to the Brockscheid bell foundry in the Eifel region and the Vulkanhof goat cheese dairy are worthwhile.
