Tips
At 841 meters, the Kahler Asten is the third highest mountain in the Rothaargebirge; only the Hegekopf and the Langenberg are one or two meters higher. At the top of the summit is the Astenturm, which is another 25 meters higher and houses a restaurant. The high heath is characteristic of this landscape - it is very open up here and you have a great view. A little below the summit is the Lennequelle - also worth seeing.
