Impressive & frightening history, beautiful nature in an area that has only been (partially) reopened to the public for a few years. The entire northern area up to Karlshagen was used first by the Nazis, then by the Russians and later by the NVA.
In some places you still stand in front of locked barriers or gates, but you can still explore a lot by bike. There are educational and information boards almost everywhere!translated by
