A visit to the religious house built in 1163 proves the motto and lets the guest travel back in time. Unique in its effect, it still gives the impression of a medieval Cistercian monastery. The interesting environment with ponds and forest, on the other hand, owes its effect to the hydraulic engineering of the Cistercians and the landscaping of the early 19th century.

Monastery Loccum (Lucca or Luca) is a former abbey of the Cistercians in the town of Rehburg-Loccum, Lower Saxony, near the Steinhuder Meer. Based on a foundation of Count Wilbrand von Hallermund, it was built in 1163 as a subsidiary of the monastery Volkenroda in Thuringia, with which it connects today the pilgrimage Loccum-Volkenroda. Primarabtei is the monastery Morimond. Today, the monastery Loccum next to the monastery Maulbronn in Baden-Württemberg is considered the best preserved Cistercian monastery north of the Alps.
