The Allschwil water tower is a water tower in the municipality of Allschwil in the canton of Basel-Landschaft.Construction began in 1970, and the roof terrace has been open to the public since 1983. The 42.5-meter-high tower is founded on 18-meter-long concrete piles in the loess soil. It contains two reservoirs with a total of 990 cubic meters of drinking water, of which 100 cubic meters are fire water reserves.The 38-meter-high viewing platform is only open for limited times on Sundays and public holidays. The platform is accessed via an elevator. The tower offers a panoramic view from Basel over the Black Forest to the Leimental.
