The Laderholz watermill is the only one of its kind in the Hanover region that is still - or ready for operation again. In the early 1990s it was in a deplorable condition. The fact that it looks so beautiful again today is thanks to a group of residents who volunteered to look after the historic mill and put a lot of work into its renovation.

In Laderholz - a small village between Neustadt am Rübenberge and Schwarmstedt - is the only watermill in the Hanover region that is still in operation for demonstration purposes.
In 1990 enthusiastic villagers got together in an association to get the mill going again - of which only miserable remains were left. After years of voluntary work, the mill was able to be presented to the public again in its old glory. This internet presentation is intended to give a brief overview of the history and technology of the mill and thus perhaps encourage a visit to Laderholz.
