The fruit wine tavern goes back to Heinrich von Friesen. He developed orchards in and around Rötha in the 1870s, set up a tree nursery and a gardener's school for orchards. In 1882, he founded a fruit processing plant in which cider was produced from the harvest surplus. The existing until today Winery was said Obstweinschänke affiliated.
