Peter Gerrits, farmer-Richter of the Wieselse Mark, planted a tree in the crown domain around 1750, possibly as a border tree of a parcel of oak coppice. Originally the tree was on the west side of the F-road. In recent years, however, the (loose) stone with the inscription "Peter Gerrits Boompje" stood near the broadly branched beech on the east side of the forest path. This tree was also called the "Spokenboompje" because of its irregular shape. (source: genealogieonline.nl)

Please note: this part of the Kroondomein is closed every year between September 15 and December 25.

The girth of the tree, measured at a height of 50 cm, is 5.25 m (Aug 26, 2018, AlfredHrustinga). Since this tree is a multi-trunked tree, the circumference of the tree may be greater than what can be expected from a tree of this age. Its height is exactly 16 m (Aug 26, 2018, laser with Sine method (eg Nikon Forestry 550 laser rangefinder), AlfredHrustinga). This tree was planted around the year 1820 ± 40, which makes it around 200 ± 40 years old (AlfredHrustinga, Jun 6, 2020).
