In December 2011, a locomotive and a car were installed on a remaining piece of track at the former Birkenfeld train station. It is intended to be reminiscent of the former “Birkenfeld Railway”. The two vehicles are to be refurbished externally - in the red color of the "Birkenfelder Eisenbahn".
