The water in this fountain was considered by Romans as one of the region's most important mineral resources. In the Sauerbrunnen, which is fed by the nearby Petersquelle, bubbling particularly ferrous and carbonated water. That's where the name comes from. Due to the high content of minerals, the water tastes slightly sour. A short break and a big sip of healing water is definitely recommended. A little further is the Petersquelle, there you will find a small water playground, which also gives the little a lot of fun.
