The town of Zempow is now on the border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and was ruled from there in the Middle Ages. 1571 came to the Zechlin office, Zempow fell desolate and was only rebuilt in 1700; a church from 1709/10 was replaced by today's building in 1865/66, as can be seen from an inscription in the foundation stone on the apse. The three windows on each of the long sides of the brick building are more reminiscent of the Gothic style. The west tower shows four dials, but there is no tower clock!
