Tips
In Ahlden worth a small tour of the beautiful old town with many historic half-timbered houses. A special highlight is the large Scheunenviertel, which is completely under monument protection. It was built in the 19th century, probably for fear of fire, after the place in 1847 was hit by a large fire. That is why all barns are relatively far apart. They are still privately owned and were partially converted into residential buildings.
