To get to the natural monument "1000-year-old oak" on Rötberg, you walk along the northern shore of the lake. It is said to have been planted in 1128 by Irmtrut, the wife of the later Löcknitzer Burgvogts Thomas de Lokenitz. Their planting is said to have taken place on the occasion of the victory of the Pomeranian prince Wratislaw I. (around 1100 - about 1148). In 1995, the oak was extensively renovated by tree surgeons.
