Very beautiful and historical place with information panels, boundary stones, among other things with the boundary stone from 1844. The triangle is located near Prex (municipality Regnitzlosau, district Hof in Bavaria), Tiefenbrunn (municipality Eichigt, Vogtland district in Saxony) and Trojmezí (municipality Hranice, Okres Cheb in Czech Republic) and marks the point at which Bavaria, Saxony and Bohemia meet. Until 1990, the inner-German border between the Federal Republic of Germany and the GDR and the border with Czechoslovakia began at the triangle. It was part of the Iron Curtain. Until 1918 the border between Austria-Hungary and the German Empire ran here.

In keeping with the fall of the wall 30 years ago, we have made a small fine trip to the border triangle. Here the borders of Germany, GDR and CSSR met. This historic point is located in a beautiful meadow landscape and daddy formally for hiking (highway E3) or biking

The tour route from Mittelhammer over the Czech Republic to Pabstleithen is beautiful. Especially on a warm autumn day. 👍🏼

The border triangle is located at Mittelhammer and is the border point of various countries. Today it is the border point of Bavaria and Saxony and the Czech Republic.

Until 1918, the border between Austria-Hungary and the German Empire ran at the border triangle. In the 19th century, the state borders of Bavaria, Bohemia and Saxony met there. From 1946, buildings near the border to secure the iron curtain were demolished. Until 1990, the inner-German border between the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic and the border with Czechoslovakia began at the border triangle. The border triangle was therefore part of the Iron Curtain and only passable as a border crossing for pedestrians when the border was opened in 1989/1990. At the tripple point I find a boundary stone from 1844 and a soldier's grave from 1945. From the boundary stone you can see the scant remains of the former Grenzschänke Hofmannsmühle in Czech territory. The border triangle is also a destination for numerous hiking trails, including those from the Kammweg and the Ostweg.

A place steeped in history that, as a local, should definitely be seen. It is a place in the middle of the forest where Europe is growing together - in this case the reunited Germany and the Czech Republic.
