Scenic cycle route between Lake Zug and the Reuss

As is so often the case in Switzerland, this cycle route is clearly a recommendable alternative to the normal country roads. A little more wavy and with a few short but crisp inclines, you drive here away from the car traffic through the idyllic landscape between Lake Zug and the Reuss. Some benches invite you to take a break and enjoy the view.

The area between Hünenberg and Rothkreuz is dotted with many cycling cafés, restaurants and bars, better known as "Besen Beizen" located right on the national cycling route 77. On a Saturday or Sunday these temples of local cuisine and drink fill up quickly. Don't forget to try one of the nice "Cherry Schnapps" or "Kirsche" for which the Canton of Zug is famous. The Hofmeister Bar is something very unique to Switzerland, all consumption is based on the honor system, great to have an institution like this where people still have confidence in the honesty of other people. It says a lot of about the people of the area.
