The Hohllay cave with its tunnels and rock formations is a great destination in the Little Luxembourg Switzerland. Already the Romans struck stones for their construction projects from the rock here and also in the Middle Ages the dismantling was continued. In particular, millstones were broken out of the sandstone rocks. The traces of the tools you can see today well on the cave walls.

Easily one of the best highlights in the region! The bizarre patterns in the rock are due to mining from the Medieval times till the 19the century. The left over pillars keep it from "caving in" and gives it a somewhat Cathedrally feeling.
