A cathedral (or cathedral, Latin: ecclesia cathedralis, in Italian (duomo) and German-speaking areas (Dom), and sometimes also in Hungary, dom) in the Catholic, Orthodox and Anglican churches (as well as in some Northern European evangelical churches) is the church of a diocese, where the bishop's (or archbishop's) throne (Greek: καθέδρα – kathedra, i.e. "throne") is located. In Geneva, the Reformed church guarding the seat of John Calvin is also called a cathedral. The cathedral is a functional term related to the church organization system, essentially representing a rank. Such a church is usually close to the bishop's residence.hu.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sz%C3%A9kesegyh%C3%A1z
