He was born in 1774 as the sixth child of the Friedrich family and lived in the then university and Hanseatic city of Greifswald until he was 20.

        However, the Friedrich family was known to the people of Greifswald at that time through other arts. The Friedrich family owned their house near Greifswald Cathedral and today's Langen Straße. It was also the Friedrich family's soap factory. If you went about your work in this house, you could already smell it in the market square, and that wasn't always to your advantage.
