After the ford at the end of the rocky section from Nant y Moch reservoir, the trail gets easier and rolls over the hills near Plynlimon. Before you enter the forest (if you are heading towards Mach) look back for a beautiful view of the open moorland.

Tough going between the end of the road and the forest on anything less than an MTB, especially when wet. Decent bivy sites around the river crossing.

A lovely (if a bit rough) gravel ride in a wilder part of Wales. Can be ridden as an "out & back" addition to Mach 3 trail. Pick a fine winter's day & you may have the entire place to yourself.
