South of the new Meldorf harbor lies the 532-hectare "Kronenloch" nature reserve. Here, for the first time on the west coast, a saltwater biotope with tidal influence has been created within the dike. The goal of this now designated wilderness area (Natura 2000) is "Let nature be nature."
