Kinderdijk Windmills

A clever example of water management is being done in the Kinderdijk mill complex. The 19 mills were once built to pump water up from the low-lying polder. The complex is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

With your online ticket you can board all boats. Due to the restrictions imposed by Covid-19, the number of places on a boat is limited. The tour boats run all day. They only go out of service in strong winds. It is not possible to reserve a spot.

Kinderdijk is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland, located in the Alblasserwaard. The village is part of the municipality of Molenlanden. Kinderdijk is located at the place where the Noord and the Lek meet. The place is mainly known for the Kinderdijkse mills.
