Tips
To the north-west of Kirchvers and north of Frankenberg is the "Oberes Verstal" nature reserve, which has been a protected area since 1997. The “Upper Verstal” belongs to the southern part of the Gladenbacher Bergland and comprises a unique mosaic of special habitats, which is of great importance for a large number of endangered animal and plant species. This mosaic is made up of near-natural flowing waters - the verse and its side streams - with typical alder fringes and meadow areas alongside the water, as well as hedges, bushes and small forest stands. The grasslands are fresh to wet due to different water influences, sometimes even marshy.
