The Niedere Burgstall (2,436 meters) is the little brother of the Hoher Burgstall. From the Kreuzjoch mountain station in the Schlick2000, it is a scenic hike that can be completed in a maximum of one and a half hours. From the Niederen Burgstall you can then climb the Hoher Burgstall, continue walking to the Starkenburger Hütte or descend to the Schlickeralm.

I wouldn't exactly describe the hike from the mountain station as family-friendly. According to Komoot, you need alpine experience here and the tour is classified as "difficult". Narrow and steep mountain paths lead to the summit, partly over scree.
