The Krusemarker Kirche was built in the middle of the 12th century on the open field between the villages of Hohenberg-Krusemark, Groß- and Klein Ellingen and its huge tower attracts attention from afar. Church of Krusemark All four villages were parish there with equal rights. The church is one of the oldest stone churches in Altmark. It is not only characterized by its size, but also by its features. The four large epitaphs that the sculptor Hermann created are reminiscent of members of the von Krusemarck family. The Romanesque font is as old as the church. The organ dates from 1727. The greatest treasure, however, is in the tower. It is the bell created in 1490 by Gherardus de Wou de Campis, the most famous bell founder at the time. Among other things, he created the famous "Maria Gloriosa" bell of the Erfurt Cathedral in 1497. The inscription on the bell reads: "Gherardus de wou de Campis me facit anno Domini MCCCCXC benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini, osanna in excelsis" ("Gerhard Wou von Kampen poured me in the year of the Lord 1490. Praise be who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosiannah on high! ")
