The roof of the castle tower is used again and again by the storks to build a nest there. Probably successful in the past, but mostly unsuccessful attempts like in the 2021 season when the nest and brood were blown down. One wonders why no nesting aid is installed up there, when Sachsenhagen is considered a stork stronghold with over 6 occupied nests.

There has been a nest aid on the castle tower since 2022 and this season the nest up there is inhabited. The only thing missing is an information board like before the other Sachsenhäger stork nests.
