Twenty survivors made a vow to hold a solemn day of praise for eternity. This is traditionally celebrated with a procession on the first weekend after the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary (July 2nd) as the highest local holiday in Bad Westernkotten. The Lobetagslinden and the wayside shrines below are of course worth seeing all year round
