Away from the usual hiking routes, which I would never have entered without Komoot. It offers a wonderful view of the Geisingberg and the valley of the Müglitz facing towards Dresden, to the right and left are the typical Bärwurz meadows for the Osterzgebirge.
The Bärwurz prefers higher elevations, in their appearance and also by their smell it reminds something of dill. The old medicinal plant can be used together with chives in the herb quark in spring. However, carefully dosing, not everyone likes the strong taste. In the Erzgebirge from the Köppernickelsuppe is prepared and in Bavaria one produces a schnapps from cultivated Bärwurz. Who prefers local specialties, also in the Vogtland in Zwota he is produced.
You should not confuse the plant with the yellow-flowered tormentil, also called Tormentill. This plant is used for the red coloration of herbal schnapps and liqueurs. Here would be from the Erzgebirge coming from the "herb liqueur with bloodroot" recommended the company Grenzwald. On my last picture you will find both herbs (yellow flower, dill-like leaves) peacefully united on a meadow, and the blue flowering "common finial flower" has joined.
Now back to our way: through several typical farmsteads and houses of the Eastern Ore Mountains, the path winds downhill and ends at the baroque church of the Assumption. The former parish church of Hinterzinnwald was built after the re-catholicization of Bohemia in the years 1729-1732. Next to the church is a small lake, which is popular as a bathing lake despite its boggy water. However, beware, there are leeches :-).
From the church leads my favorite trail towards Mückenberg. Front Zinnwald was on this road. After the expulsion of its inhabitants from 1948, the village was leveled. Today commemorative plaques remind of this lost place.
