Hiking
As a geological extension of the Rhön, the mountain forms a singularity in the northern Werra-Gäuplatten, which lie between the Rhön in the southwest and the Thuringian Forest in the northeast.
It is the namesake of the Dolmar-Salzbrücke administrative association and Dolmar, the first manufacturer of petrol chain saws.
On it are ring wall traces, the Charlottenhaus and the Dolmar-Kühndorf airfield.
Basalt was previously mined.
