Location and history: The Neckarhalde is not only a district of Esslingen, but the district was named after the hill and the vineyards between Mettingen and the city center. The Neckarhalde stretches from Mettingen along the Neckar to the city center and goes northwest of the city center up to the hill near the forest area of the Schurwald.
Many of the vines that are grown there are destined for the Kessler sparkling wine cellar. It is the first sparkling wine cellar in Germany and is located in the old town of Esslingen.
