The wonderfully pristine Parforceheide is one of the last, really large forest areas in the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan area. It has been a nature reserve since 1997 and you will notice that when you go for a walk here. A deer could jump out from behind every tree or a fox and a hare could say “good night” to each other in the evening. The further you dive into the forest, the greater the chance of having it all to you. The landscape changes every time you turn the next corner. Between lush green mixed forest, fragrant conifers and dry heather soils, everything is there.
The name Parforceheide goes back to the former hunting area of Friedrich Wilhelm I, who carried out his parforce hunts here.
