    Located on a hill four miles from Carovigno, the monumental complex is only the external emergence of an older cliff settlement. It is formed by a sub-divo church flanked by factories of various eras and by a system of natural caves arranged on two different levels which can be accessed by an existing arch on the right side of the chapel. The stretch of the staircase has a barrel-vaulted room with a walled entrance on the right and a frescoed apsidiole on the left. One of the frescoes depicts a Virgin and Child dated 1530. From this room, after a short staircase, you enter the upper crypt which contains a shrine dated 1501 and commissioned by the Loffreda, feudal lords of Carovigno, to the Ostunese sculptor Giovanni Lombardo.
