The first solemn service was held on December 6th, 1789 in the Bierhausscheuer prepared for the Notkirche. The inauguration of the new St. Josef church and the associated rectory was on September 3, 1805. Large-scale renovations were carried out inside in 1984 and outside in 1991/92.
Until 1974, pastoral care from there looked after the parishes in Bubenbach, Oberbränd and in between also Hubertshofen, Mistelbrunn and Unterbränd. Bubenbach and its branch church Oberbränd have been part of the parish of Eisenbach since 1983. The church has 220 seats and has about 270 Catholics.
