Water Tower on Dronningens Bastion

The park is part of the "Nyborg Fortress", situated on a hill with good all-round visibility, surrounded by water channels. The water tower was built in 1899 according to the drawings by the architect Emil Schwanenflügel from Odense.

The water tower at Dronningens Bastion was built in 1899 according to drawings by architect Emil Swanenflügel from Odense. It is a unique example of the industrial construction of the time.The water tower was protected in 1997 and unique in that the water installations are largely intact. As far as is known, it is the only water tower in Denmark with a preserved water tank in joined steel plates.The height of the water tower from the terrain to the top of the roof is 22.40 m. Measured inside from the bottom to the roof it is 24 m. (Round tower is 36 m).
