The small river that we call Beeke (Old German: Bach) is the 16km long Ihme, a tributary of the Leine, which flows into the Schneller Graben in the city center. The last 6km are also known as the Ricklinger Beeke because it flows through the Ricklinger Holz. As inconspicuous as the river looks, you can still experience nicer surprises - for example in the form of large brown trout.
