Through the narrow valley just before Chiusaforte, the river, the road, the motorway and the Alpe-Adria bike path are forcing their way. Once you have reached the picturesque mountain village, you can experience the typical atmosphere of 100 years ago. This special flair is reinforced by the view of the surrounding mountains.

45 km of almost car-free train path bike path in a piece in a splendid Alpine and sweeping landscape ,. The most spectacular railway path in Europe with artificial structures without end. The railway line from Villach to Udine was redrawn in the 1990s because of earthquake experience, to a large extent in the tunnel, the old railway line was converted with EU funding to the bike path. Is alone worth a trip. Sometimes rustic concrete orgy weighs on the new highway. Some stations received, at least one is now cafe. Continuous gentle slope <2% of Tarvisio.

The old station of the place Chiusaforte, which was developed for the break and overnight station, should definitely be visited. The landlord has created a cozy rest stop for locals and cyclists. Simple clean rooms, dinners and a generous breakfast for a reasonable price.
