The Natural Park Ticino Valley with its approx. Since 2002, 100,000 hectares have been a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve. On the stretch of river between Sesto Calende and Porto Torre, you may be lucky enough to see a variety of egrets or the equally rare and elegant white stork. The aircraft from Milan Malpensa Airport, which is only a few kilometers away, can certainly be observed.
