Lauterbach castle and park with the pond are really wonderful and well worth a visit. As always, the castle has a very eventful history, which can be read very nicely on an explanatory board in the castle park. What Freiherr von Palm and his successors created here from 1735 to 1929 is a really great place to relax. The coat of arms of Palms can be seen high up on the rococo facade and the neat little castle tower has been new since 2017. Unfortunately we could not see into the castle building and the 90 m² garden room. Since 2010 it shines again in the old baroque splendor and houses the probably most monumental portraits of the Habsburg potentates in Saxon castles.
