The Soier lake warms up relatively quickly in spring and is not overcrowded, especially in midsummer. Since it is nestled in the Ammergau Alps, jumping into the refreshing water after a hike or bike ride is perfect. A special highlight is the nature trail around the lake, which teaches children a lot about the local fauna and flora in a playful way.

The Bayersoiener See is a pearl on the edge of the Alps. The lake is easy to walk around, even on a barefoot path with a few variations to feel and balance.

Bad Bayersoien in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a so-called Moordorf: High rainfall, a water-impermeable soil and associated lack of oxygen prevent here for thousands of years that plant residues can be degraded. They are lost. This peat layer grows by a millimeter per year - in Bad Bayersoien it is 7.20 meters high at the lowest point. In this bog so tree trunks and roots are included, which stood at the time of Christ or the Ancient Egyptians.
The Bad Bayersoiener do a lot to keep their landscape intact since the Kurwesen in the late nineties in Germany got a damper. With the help of the biologist Hermann, they are renaturing open areas on Lake Bayersoien, their moor lake. They designed a small moor round, where guests and walkers learn why the barren moorland is particularly vulnerable and worthy of protection.
