Bike Touring Highlight
From the 14 m high Quitmannsturm on the Kohlberg you have a unique view over the Sauerland. If you have fought your way up the Kohlberg, you should never leave the tower to the left.Over 100 years ago, in 1892, the tower that the sons of Neuenrad's teacher Carl Friedrich Quitmann donated was built. But before the planned inauguration, a hurricane-like storm destroyed the tower in winter 1893, so that it had to be rebuilt.
In 1986 the city of Neuenrade renewed the 14 m high tower at 514 m above sea level. NN highest elevation in Neuenrade. A wonderful view is worth the climb: from the Lennetal to the Wilder Wiese and more, just take a look at the "Land of a Thousand Mountains". Panoramic pictures on top of the Quitmannsturm provide information about the surrounding mountains, localities and other lookout towers.
