Mill De Onderneming is an octagonal upper porter built in 1851 as a grist and peeling mill. As far as we know, there has never been a mill on the site of this mill before.

The windmill came out of operation after 1930, but war conditions made repairs and recommissioning necessary.
This new period of activity came to a definitive end around 1950, after which the mill once again fell into disrepair.

In 1952 it was purchased by the Oud-Wieringen Foundation, after which it was restored in 1964. This included installing new rods (until then they had always been wooden rods).

After 1964, the mill remained mainly a static monument: well maintained, but rarely or never running. This only changed around 2000. Since then, the mill has been running frequently and is also being ground.

In July 2017 it was discovered that there was a significant hole in the inner rod. On October 19 that year, that rod was lowered and they continued with one rod. The owner then tried to raise funds for a new interior rod. Not much later it was decided to also replace the outer rod.

Two new rods were delivered to the mill on March 11, 2019, and they were fitted on April 23, the Tuesday after Easter. On this occasion the mill also received two new long braces.
The mill was festively put back into operation on Friday, August 16
