The Chapelle le Vègre is a historic chapel dedicated to Saint Jacques, patron saint of pilgrims. It was built in the early 17th century by two local men returning from their pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The chapel is located on a hill overlooking Lake Gruyère and the mountains, and is surrounded by nature. You can visit the chapel and admire its baroque altarpiece and its statues, carved from walnut wood by a local artist. The chapel is also a stop on the Chemins de Saint-Jacques, a network of paths that follow the ancient routes of pilgrims.
