It was here that St. Emmeram, who had been martyred in Helfendorf near Aying, died in 652 from his injuries. The monastery of St. Emmeram in Regensburg, where the missionary bishop found his last resting place, preserved a corresponding souvenir here for a long time with a chapel called "Münster". Today's memorial chapel was built in 1842 and renovated in 1980-83.
