Gamla Linköping Open-Air Museum

This district was built from old houses from Linköping and the region. Admission is free and there are shops based on historical models as well as artists and handicraft shops

numerous historic houses and small museums can be visited here with free admission. Small shops, a Cloetta factory outlet with sweets and various rest stops are also available.

Gamla Linköping is an open air museum in Linköping in Sweden. The museum shows what a small town in Sweden looked like a hundred years ago.Gamla Linköping has over ninety houses and buildings. The buildings all come from downtown Linköping and have been moved here. The houses had to make way for new buildings. The houses are still inhabited today, so the museum looks more like an ancient district. The cobblestones, lanterns and red fences as they were common in Sweden about a hundred years ago have also been preserved.Small museums are set up in various houses. In detail these are: Baron von Lingens Hof: The wooden house was built in 1724. The facility was reconstructed from a state of 1820.
Carin Nilson's Villa: It is the home of the sculptor Carin Nilson. The house was built in 1882. The facility dates from the early twentieth century.
Solliden: a workers' apartment from the 1920s. Albin Andersson lived here with his wife Lisa and son Nils. Albin Andersson was a lumberjack and forest worker.
School Museum: It was the first school for girls in Lindköping. There are three classrooms and the teacher's apartment, as they looked about a hundred years ago.
Rope factory: It is the office building of the rope factory, one of the largest factories in Linköping a hundred years ago. The production of ropes is demonstrated in the back of the house.
Shop: In 1873 the first shop was opened in this house. Today, candies are sold in paper bags like they were a hundred years ago.
