The church cemetery is remarkable, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view over the NOK.

From the church you can descend in a westerly direction via a staircase directly to the Landwehr ferry dock.

The church of St. Peter and Paul, named after the two apostles, is a simple, rectangular hall church with a late Romanesque fieldstone nave from around 1200. It is probably older than the churches in Flemhude, Bovenau, Westensee and Dänischenhagen and was first mentioned in documents in 1318.

In 1829, the church was extended to the east with a brick building. At the same time, the windows were enlarged, bricked up and given a slight arch at the top. On the west side there is a square wooden tower with an eight-sided pointed roof with a golden weather vane that can be seen from far away. The interior is dominated by the continuous wooden beam ceiling and the uniform late classicist furnishings from 1829. Galleries were installed and furnished with pews, the altar and pulpit were rebuilt, and the gallery on the west gable received an organ.
